Abstract
Background This study was conducted to evaluate central corneal thickness and corneal endothelial cell changes in type 2 diabetes mellitus patient. Method: The present case control study was carried out in department of ophthalmology. Total 180(60 diabetic individual,60 with diabetic retinopathy and 60 normal individual with age/sex matched).complete history and ocular examination was done. The central corneal thickness and corneal endothelial cell changes was observed by using specular microscopy. Result: The central corneal thickness is more in diabetic than nondiabetic individual. The endothelial changes are more in diabetic individual than non diabetic individual. Conclusion measuring central corneal thickness in diabetic individual will help us to identify the patient who are at higher risk of developing severe corneal complications
