Abstract
CASE DESCRIPTION- A 70 year male patient presented with diminution of vision in both eyes since 6-8 months . He was diagnosed case of Multibacillary Hansen’s , 10 years back was on treatment Rifampicin and Clofazimine and Dapsone for 1 year . On examination corrected visual acuity was 6/36 in right eye and 6/18 in left eye . Slit lamp showed Madarosis , trichiasis , thickened lid margins ,multiple opacities on cornea , multiple pinpoint iris pearls diffusely present on iris surface , immature senile cataract in both eyes .Advised cataract surgery.
CONCLUSION- Iris pearls lead to early diagnosis and if missed lead to recrudenscences and permanent visual loss. Hence , regular follow ups are required.
