Abstract
Methods – 5,672 patients who had come to ophthalmology emergency department in 1 year, within this 3542 had selected for this demographic study. In this study patients having ocular trauma confined to anterior segment of eye were included. Patients were triaged on the basis of BETT classification. OTS was calculated.
Results – Out of 3542 patients, 670 (18.92%) patients had open globe injury, 2286 (64.53%) had closed globe injury. It was more common in October November and March, which was festive season. Male and female ratio is 3:1. Most common age group was within 0 – 20 years. Spearman correlation of OTS score with visual category shows positive correlation ρ = 0.961, p<0.001 Conclusions – OTS is a reliable predictor for final visual outcome.
