Abstract
186 Patients with penetrating missile, bullet, bow and arrow injuries to eye and orbit reported to the author during last 21 years in J&K in India and Democratic Republic of Congo form the basis of this study. The injuries were caused by fragments of improvised explosive devices/ artillery shells (84%) or by bullets (16%). They were evaluated clinically, by USG & or CT (Computed Tomography) and managed conservatively or surgically by balancing the risk from additional trauma with surgery against the existing loss of function and potential for further damage from future reaction. I report my rare & large experience.
