Abstract

Dry Eye syndrome is often associated with patients diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis. We evaluated sixty eight patients on treatment for Rheumatoid arthritis to assess the presence of dry eye and if present to grade it.Besides complete ocular evaluation, they underwent Tear Break up time, Schirmer test and Rose Bengal staining and were subjected to the OSDI questionnaire. We found a significant correlation between the OSDI questionnaire of grading symptoms and the objective test carried out to ascertain dry eye, thus reinforcing its importance as an additive tool in screening .
