Abstract

GLAUCOMA also known as the sneak thief of vision and often treated with topical antiglaucoma measures. However the known fact that the nerves once lost to the disease will not recover but the medication will prevent further loss is well known. In this paper I demonstrate cases where there is an improvement in the nerve fibre layer thickness after consistent therapy with antiglaucoma agents. This is a very good indication for all glaucoma patients as this fact is like a ray of hope towards recovery for glaucoma patients and can save eyes.

This paper also counters the age old concept of permanent nerve damage.

early treatment also holds key to good neural recovery. It is premature to relate it to improvement of visual field but establishes serial OCT for RNFL analysis in glaucoma patients.

It is also a good way to emphasise that the treatment is working improving patient compliance
