Abstract

Optic disc pit (ODP) is a rare congenital disease of the optic nerve head. Maculopathy assosciated in ODP ,is in the form of retinal detachment and retinoschisis, presents around 3rd decade normally. However, maculopathy in children is rare and assosciated with preceeding history of trauma. Due to poorly understood pathophysiogoly of the disease, there isn’t a standard mode of treatment.

We present a Videographic representation of successful management of recurrent OPD-M with Human Amniotic Membrane Graft in a Child, previously treated with 25 G PPV with inverted ILM peel, juxtapapillary endolaser and SF6 gas tamponade. This time, we approached the same case with, three 25-G sclerotomies and a hAMG ,carefully maneuvered inside the optic nerve pit. Snug fit of the hAMG was confirmed on intra operative OCT, hence evading the need of additional tamponade or laser. Drastic resolution of the sub retinal fluid with in 48 h was confirmed on OCT and BCVA improved to 6/18 after 1 week
