Abstract
To illustrate challenges faced while using the Malyugin ring in cataract surgery in eyes with small pupils.
This video demonstrates that though the Malyugin ring is a great device for eyes with small pupils it does have its own set of challenges. The first scenario demonstrates the dislodgement of the ring while inserting the intraocular lens. The second scenario demonstrates entanglement of the IOL in the scroll of the ring. The third scenario demonstrates rupture of the anterior capsule while inserting the ring
Using the Malyugin ring can present its own set of unique challenges. Managing complications can lead to better results following surgery.
Conclusion: The Malyugin ring is an excellent device for cataract surgery in eyes with small pupils. Though complications can occur while using the ring, early and timely management of complications can lead to optimal surgical outcomes
