Abstract
Visualization of anterior chamber angle and assessment of the angle width are essential for diagnosis and management of glaucoma. Gonioscopy can be used to visualize the angle structures qualitatively, however quantification is unreliable, subjective & patient dependent and structures behind the iris cannot be seen. Anterior segment imaging provides noninvasive quantitative and qualitative evaluation of anterior chamber angle (ACA) as well as pathology related to sulcus and ciliary body. Discussion with illustrations will be done for identification of various landmarks & parameters like irido-trabecular contact (ITC) index ,Trabecular-iris space area (TISA) Angle opening distance (AOD)and lens vault. Use of AS imaging for visualisation of intra bleb structures will also be discussed. This course will open the third eye wherein technology meets clinical evaluation and opens up innumerable possibilities towards the future of glaucoma diagnostics and therapeutics.
