Abstract
A hot orbit is not necessarily due to orbital cellulitis. Sterile inflammation due to Idiopathic Orbital Inflammatory Disease and Thyroid Eye Disease can mimic orbital cellulitis. Rarely, an orbital tumour can present in the setting of a hot orbit. It is therefore imperative to identify the cause before starting treatment. This IC will highlight case-based management of various common and uncommon presentations pertaining to a hot orbit. A general approach to the patient will be discussed, followed by illustrative examples like orbital infection, sterile inflammation, malignancy and hot orbit in a child.
