Abstract
Cataract surgery is one of the most commonly performed intraocular surgeries. Presence of weak zonules, inadequate capsular support and optical aphakia (secondary to surgery or posterior lens dislocation) makes the conventional placement of posterior chamber intraocular lens (PCIOL) in the capsular bag or the ciliary sulcus difficult or impossible. Such cases can be surgically managed by an anterior chamber IOL (ACIOL) , iris fixated lens, iris claw lens or sclera fixated IOL (SFIOL). SFIOL behaves as a PCIOL implanted in sulcus, the position being near the nodal point of eye; hence advantageous. Modifications by various surgeons has helped to perfect the technique of SFIOL implantation. This is a video-based interactive session that gives insight into different techniques of SFIOL fixation weighing their pros & cons that will allow one to choose the best suited method for oneself.
