Dr. MADHUKAR REDDY (M04494)
Abstract
We are facing a crisis of corona virus pandemic which has caught us unaware. While the worst of the pandemic is over, the economic implications are huge and will take several years to recover from. We are also facing another crisis of climate change which being insidious it is less visible, but a far bigger one. We as a community of ophthalmologists are a part of the larger society and we must modify our lives to decrease our carbon footprint at the earliest. Doing so would also help us save more in the long term economically.
Most of us are academically and scientifically competent in providing an excellent service to our patients. However, are we equally aware of the ergonomics and environmental safety? This instruction course will suggest ways and means to attain this goal and initiate a dialogue in our community to design/modify/manage our eye care facilities.
