Abstract
A 27 year old male presented with complaints of defective vision in his right eye. He was diagnosed with idiopathic juxta foveal choroidal neovascular membrane (CNVM). He has been treated with multiple injections of intravitreal Avastin over the past 3 years. Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) showed a hyper reflective membrane in the juxtafoveal area. Adjacent to this membrane, a focal choroidal excavation (FCE) with collapse of the choroidal layers was noted with dipping of the retinal layers into the excavated area. OCT – Angiography of the Avascular retina showed the branching neovascular network corresponding to the CNVM. The network was seen extending into the RPE and choroidal layers. Both superficial and deep choroidal layers (Sattler’s and Haller’s layers) showed absence of large choroidal vessels in the area of FCE with part of the branching neovascular network extending into the layers.
