Abstract
To understand knowledge, attitude and practice of PO towards online consultations during and after Covid19 lockdown. Methods: In this cohort study, 26 PO were surveyed using a KAP questionnaire sent by google forms. Results: The mean age was 37 years (30-49), and 50% were in private practice. Mean practice duration was 7 years and 57% were already offering teleophthalmology. 62% were aware of the pertinent regulations. 96% recommended it for non-visual emergencies and 88% for follow ups. Majority (61%) do not support teleconsultation for second opinion, patient education (58%) or for vision disorders. An econsultation (84%) was preferred over video (62%), telephone (7%) or chat (7%). All agreed that charges should be at par or upto 30% less than in-office consultation fees. Lack of comprehensiveness and medicolegal implications were big concerns. Conclusion: Majority PO offer teleophthalmology services. Lack of comprehensiveness and medicolegal issues should discourage its routine use
