Abstract

INTRODUCTION:Sclopetaria is a secondary outcome of a decelerating object passing at a high velocity adjacent to sclera.While passing close to the globe after shock forces are generated,rupturing of the choroid and retina occurs.The process usually ends up with a white fibrous scar and/or retinal pigmentary alterations which are often the final findings in this situation.

METHODOLOGY:A 30 years old male with history of trauma with machine 2 years ago with visual acuity of HM+ PL+ PR4+ in his left eye. Iop was normal in both eyes. Left eye showed upperlid cicatrical ptosis with discharging sinus and RAPD with 15 degrees exotropia.AC depth was normal and lens was clear and in normal position there was no evidence of VH.CT orbit shows multiple intraorbital metallic foreign bodies.The patient was treated with systemic and local antibiotics and steroids. Operated for left eye exploration with foreign body removal.

CONCLUSION: Despite of all efforts and treatments, visual prognosis is poor.
