Abstract
26-year old, 32 weeks antenatal female; diagnosed with severe anaemia and old hilar lymphadenopathy, was referred to our department for right eye proptosis for 10 years, which had worsened during pregnancy. Patient was subjected to standard protocol of examination of the anterior and posterior segment where fundus examination revealed oedematous disc with dilated tortuous vessels in the right eye and evidence of anaemic retinopathy in both eyes; measurement of proptosis which was 25mm OD; OCT- Disc and Macula suggested elevation of the superior neuroretinal rim OD and electrophysiological testing suggested prolonged P-100 latency OD. Imaging including A and B-mode ultrasound scan to rule out any anisometropia and posterior segment pathology; MRI – Brain and Orbit was suggestive of Cavernous hemangioma with orbital nerve and lateral rectus displacement. Thus, Imaging plays a valuable rule in coming to a diagnosis so that appropriate management can be done.
