Abstract

AIM:study postoperative complications&visual outcome after Manual SICS with cataract in Uveitis cases Methods:45 eyes of 32 patients of uveitis with cataract who underwent Manual SICS with IOL implantation.All patients in this 1year observational study were evaluated for BCVA, IOP, inflammatory signs like ciliary congestion,KPs,iris nodules,synechiae,pigment dispersion,pseudoexfoliation,complicated cataract,secondary glaucoma,posterior segment evaluated with OCT&B SCAN

Results:Among 32cases,male(62.5%):female(37.5%)Mostly were in age group 31-45yrs( 44.4%).Heparin coated IOL(66.6)used.Commonest intraoperative complication iris tears(66.6%)early post-op complication DOV&secondary glaucoma(35.5%) &late complication is Pupillary capture(33.3%).Immediate postoperative BCVA within 6/60-6/36(40%) &late improvement BCVA 6/6-6/9(35.5%)Conclusion:Whatever be our procedure of choice for Manual SICS in uveitic cataracts intermittently shows up complications due to inflammation
