Abstract
METHOD- This was an Observational study.
Total 119 patients of all ages,of either sex,who presented in OPD of Tertiary centre over a duration of 6 months and where diagnosed as Anterior Uveitis related to various causes excluding Traumatic and Post-operative cases, where included.
RESULT-In anterior uveitis, specific diagnosis could be made in 71 cases (59.66%), of which the most common underlying cause was
Seronegative Spondyloarthopathy in 32 cases (26.89%) followed by Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis in 13 cases(10.99%), Phacolytic cataractous lens induced uveitis in 8 cases (6.89%). Other causes were Infectious uveitis in 13 cases (9.76%),SLE in 4 cases(3.34%), Rheumatoid Arthritis in 1 case(0.91%).Diagnosis remained idiopathic in 48 (37.86%) cases.
CONCLUSION- Majority of Anterior Uveitis were idiopathic(37.86%). A higher incidence seen in Males(71.54%) as compared to Females(28.46%).
