Abstract
Successful treatment of canalicular obstruction poses a great challenge. The relatively higher rates of complications and poor patient satisfaction of CDCR have led to the development of alternative techniques. One of which is lacrimal canalicular trephination with stenting. Canalicular trephination for any level of obstruction is less invasive, fast , easy and well tolerated by patients. The outcome of which is satisfactory for the patient with less watering. In the oculoplastic clinic at tertiary centre five patients presented with canalicular obstruction, preoperative syringing was done in all the patients and the level of block was identified. The patients were scheduled for trephination with Mini Monoka stenting. Post operatively patients were followed up with relieve in symptoms of watering.Data collected was analysed and conclusion drawn.
