Abstract

A 55 years old male presented with left eye sudden painful diminess of vision due to trauma with own finger one month back.

Anterior segment examination revealed left eye perforated corneal ulcer with pseudocornea over it with NO perception of light For which left eye evisceration with four petal technique was done accommodating larger orbital implant without its exposure. As providing satisfactory cosmetic appearance and implant mobility.

Individuals experience a sense of facial disfigurement and poor self-esteem as a result of the “lost body part” as eye contact is such an essential part of human interaction, it is extremely important for individual with an artificial eye to maintain a natural, normal-appearing eye. With four petal technique we can achieve better appearance with artificial eye and achieve higher mobility than simple evisceration.
