Abstract
A 70 yr old male presented with a chief complaint of foreign body sensation in his left eye and mass on the upper lid of same eye since 2yrs. On lid eversion a fungating growth of approximately 15mm and 8 mm was seen arising from the inner margin of nasal side of upper lid. Mass surface was irregular with areas of necrosis, yellowish discharge and active bleeding. The upper lid margin was distorted and was associated with loss of eye lashes. After relevant investigations the patient was taken up for surgery where total excision with 2mm of normal adjoining upper lid was excised and direct closure of lid was done. The excised tissue was sent for HPE.Efforts were made to study the physiology, etiology and morphology of the tumor mass. The HPE report revealed it to be Squamous cell Carcinoma. Good wound apposition and lid function was achieved postoperatively. The patient was kept on follow up and has shown no signs of recurrence. The systemic examination of patient has been normal till date.
