Abstract

A 60 yrs old male presented with complaints of a fleshy limbal mass encroaching the cornea, gradually increasing in size, associated with progressive diminution of vision, redness, watering and photophobia in R/E . SLE of R/E revealed a solitary gelatinous and papillomatous mass with multiple feeders and surface vessels and signs of keratinisation noted extending along the limbus and encroaching the cornea from 11-7 o’ clock position. A brown PIGMENTED lesion noted in superior quadrant in between 11 to 2 o’ clock position adjoining the limbus. The limbal mass was widely excised with minimal touch technique under local anaesthesia.

Post operatively, the patient was under topical antibiotic, lubricating eye drops, systemic antibiotic and anti inflammatory medications. HPE of the biopsy material reveals moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma in situ for which patient was started on topical mitomycinC eye drops. Patient was followed up till 6 months with good visual outcome.
