Abstract
MATERIALS AND METHODS: We hereby present a case of 35year old female presenting with complaints of difficulty in near vision and headache since 6months. Cutaneous examination showed unilateral diffuse, homogenous, slate color pigmentation over right upper and middle third of face. Ocular examination revealed unilateral patchy slate gray/bluish discoloration of sclera.
DISCUSSION: Nevu of ota appears as bluish hyperpigmentation along ophthalmic and maxillary division of trigeminal nerve. It has been hypothesized that nevus is caused by melanocytes that have not migrated completely from neural crest to epidermis during embryonic phase leading to dermal nesting and melanocyte production.
