Use of PFCL during surgery and use of Silicon Oil during closure is a common practice in retinal detachment surgeries, but both of them could be avoided if the breaks are superiorly located, the chances of Re- Retinal Detachment is further decreased by ILM – Peeling, thus enhancing retinal perfusion and decreasing horizontal tractions. Avoiding oils during surgery and during closure prevents their related complications. Second surgery for silicon oil removal is thus also prevented, thus reducing the financial burden both on surgeon and patient that too with increased retinal perfusion.
