Abstract
A long stride in the last decade was development, evaluation, and validation of structure with function algorithms in visual field which today have clinical meaningfulness.OCT is inarguably an aid for detecting early disease, and progression.Gonioscopy and Ultrasound Biomicroscopy, have well defined roles in Angle closure disease. Therapeutic approach selection needs revisiting treatment algorithms based on gonioscopy, presence of comorbidities and concomitant systemic therapies. Schlemms canal has been the epicenter of development with microincisional glaucoma surgery (MIGS) being a reality.Research on biomaterials, shape, and technique of drainage implant surgery has raised hopes of increasing long term success rates.Advents in technology with Nd:YAG and diode cyclophotocoagulation and ultrasound cyclodestruction promise a more satisfactory safety profile in refractory glaucomas. This course will empower attendees to incorporate relevant developments into their clinical practice.
