Abstract
Cataract surgey has become a refractive procedure in present times.But sometimes vision threatening oedema can happen due to error in judgement in both preoperative and intraoperative period.Some postoperative factors that induce oedema in ocular tissues also can jeopardize the desired visual outcome.In this instruction course we have tried to enumerate the causes of oedema in post cataract surgery patients starting from the lid to retina.Our focus is to prevent the oedema from happening and proper diagnosis in time so that the treatment outcome can salvage the vision. The strategies in counselling and management in terms of patient satisfaction and visual outcome are the important aspects of this instruction course.
