Abstract

This course is a case-based and video-assisted course focusing on management nuances in thyroid eye disease, orbital inflammatory diseases and fractures. The last few years have seen a tremendous change in the management of orbital diseases. There has been an upsurge in the available treatment modalities for the active phase of thyroid eye disease and orbital decompression has been revolutionised with customised approaches and newer technology that enables safe drilling of the orbital bones. The management of orbital fractures has also seen a dramatic change with the availability of newer implants and the eye surgeon taking on more complex cases with zygoma repairs as well. The focus of this course is to bring out the management of orbital diseases with an emphasis on currents trends, newer technologies and a global perspective.
