Abstract

This video-based Masterclass deals with unexpected intraoperative emergencies during cataract surgery. Renowned experts in the field will demonstrate an emergency situation and the way the crisis was skillfully managed. An expert panel will opine on the genesis, management & prevention aspects of each situation presented. Masterclass will demonstrate complications encountered during all steps of PE and will include incisional burns, massive surge, intraoperative hard eye of acute origin, bad capsule-zonular issues, impending nucleus dislocation, massive iris prolapse, PCR or zonular dialysis during IOL implantation, expulsive haemorrhage etc. High quality video clips are used to illustrate the issues discussed. It will highlight how not to make a complicated situation even worse with the wrong intervention. At the end of the MasterClass, attendees will have learned how to avoid & successfully manage some of the potential intraoperative emergencies.
