Abstract
Purpose. To evaluate and compare the accuracy of different IOL formulas (Barrett Universal II, Haigis, Hoffer Q, Holladay1, SRK/T and Hill RBF & Ladas super formula)
Methods: In Retrospective series, 379 eyes from 234 patients who undergone phaco with IOL implant. Refractive mean numerical error (MNE) and mean absolute error (MAE) of IOL formulas were compared. MNE and MAE at different axial lengths (AL) were compared, and the percentage of refractive error absolute value was calculated at ±0.25D, ±0.50D, ±1.00D and ±2.00D. Hill RBF has limitations -“out of bound”.
Results: Barrett Universal II, Hill RBF & Ladas super formula had lowest MNE and MAE in different AL patients; Holladay and Hoffer Q were highest. Ladas super & Barrett Universal II formulas also have the highest % of refractive error absolute value within 0.5D.
Conclusion: AI based Ladas super is the grandmaster with lowest predictive error compared with SRK/T, Haigis, Holladay, Hoffer Q and even Barrett II formulas.
