Globe luxation is a rare clinical event.
Most of the cases are usually traumatic, Psychiatric cause being the rarest of the rare has been reported to our Tertiary Health Care Centre.
We report here a case of globe luxation (anterior) that occurred in a known case of Psychiatric 20 year old female patient after violent self mutilation and self harm done to the globe. Complete Globe protrusion associated with optic nerve avulsion was observed.
After repositioning the globe and tarsorrhaphy, Patient showed satisfactory salvage of globe integrity and cosmetic improvement.
Thus, Prompt and appropriate management with multidisciplinary approach including psychiatric management provided the patient with a healthy and satisfactory outcome.
