Abstract
Toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) is an uncommon but serious disease with high rate of mortality. Drugs are by far the most common cause of toxic epidermal necrolysis. It is supposed to be due to immunological reaction leading to necrosis and detachment of the full thickness of the epidermis. In addition, mucous membranes may also be involved.
Prompt diagnosis, immediate drug withdrawal and appropriate treatment are of utmost value in reducing mortality. Due to its high mortality rate, care of eyes is sometimes neglected leading to various ocular problems. We report a case of TEN with sequelae of dry eyes.
