Abstract
The term ‘Serpiginous like choroiditis’ (SLC) is used to denote the sub type of serpiginous choroiditis (SC) which are associated with infectious etiologies especially TB. They are characterized by multifocal choroidal lesions of varying shapes and sizes which often coalesce to form diffuse choroiditis. SLC cases are seen in TB endemic areas, in younger patients with unilateral presentation.
We herein present a case of a 43 yrs old female with complaint of diminution of vision in the RE. Her BCVA was 6/24 in OD and 6/6 in OS. Fundoscopy revealed multifocal active choroiditis. Mantoux skin test was strongly positive (20mm).The patient was started on ATT by pulmonogist consultation. 2 week follow up showed no improvement after which oral Prednisolone was added. The patient showed complete resolution of retinal lesions in next follow up one month later with BCVA 6/6 OU. Based on the favorable outcome in our case, we would like to emphasize the importance of steroids in cases of SLC.
