Abstract
CASE PRESENTATION- Presenting case of 27 yr female with c/o sudden loss of vision in her right eye 4 months back. Examination revealed right eye optic neuritis, no signs of motor and sensory inv. T2W MRI showed demyelinating myelopathy inv D2-D5 seg.NMO IgG was found to be positive. Improvement of vision for 4 months after iv steroid therapy was noted. She developed left eye optic neuritis 4 months after initial presentation,no signs of motor and sensory inv .Despite initial therapy with oral steroids, patient’s visual outcome deteriorated. Administration of i.v steroid in a pulse modality alongwith oral steroids and vitamin supplementation led to gradual improvement in visual acuity in subsequent visits.
CONCLUSION- this case represents a phenotypic expression of a recurrent, steroid sensitive, demyelinating CNS d/o in a young female and highlights the occurrence of Devic’s within our setting.
