Abstract

Introduction – Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna ( AB PM-JAY) . It was launched in India in September 2018 and it is termed as world largest government funded healthcare programme .A beneficiary can avail medical treatment at any PM-JAY empanlled hospital anywhere in the country. It covers three days of hospitalization and fifteen days of post hospitalization including diagnostic care and expenses on treatment.

Methods – Statistics of surgery in a tertiary eye care center were collected from Ist arpil 2019 to 31 st march 2020 of the 182 surgeries which were performed the split up data was oculoplasty 92 ( 50.5%) vitreoretinal surgery 61(33.5 %) glaucoma surgery 16 (8.7% ) and cornea 13 (7.1%) .

Conclusion -Till now the main focus had been on the cataract surgery with the implementation of the pm-jay the patients who could not afford the above highly skilled and specialized surgery are now getting benefit to undertake the treatment.
