Abstract
Aim: To study retinal microvascular changes in post fever retinitis using OCTA and its correlation with visual outcomes post treatment
Methods: Prospective observational study where 14 eyes of 10 patients with post fever retinitis were included. Baseline visual acuity, OCT, OCTA and FFA was done. Treatment with posterior sub-tenons triamcinolone with or without oral steroids was initiated. Repeat analysis was done at 1 and 3 months’ post treatment
Results: All patients presented with multifocal retinitis with macular edema, 6 with unilateral and 4 with bilateral presentation. Capillary drop out areas involving the FAZ were noted in baseline OCTA in 7 eyes. On subsequent visit, these were noted in only 4 eyes. An association between BCVA and FAZ involvement at each visit was drawn and showed significant association at 3 months with p value < 0.05 Conclusion: OCTA is a potentially useful tool to assess the visual prognosis in patients presenting with post fever retinitis
