Abstract
AIM :To study the changes in refraction and structural parameters (Best corrected visual acuity, Refraction, Anterior chamber depth, Axial length and keratometry) in eyes of patients undergoing HBOT therapy
Material and methods :Prospective study of 32 patients to assess changes in ocular parametres in patients undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy at start of therapy at session 12 and session 24 during 2 yrs of residency.Exclusion criteria included Patients who has undergone refractive surgery ,Disease affecting corneal curvature like keratoconus, corneal ectasia, pterygium, corneal opacity, corneal scar,Impending loss of vision
Results :Mean age of patients was 52.53 and male female ratio was 1.6 : 1.Net myopic shift after 24 sessions was found to be -0.17 Diopters which was statistically not significant compared to previous studies hence hyperbaric oxygen therapy can be considered as a safer modality
