Abstract
Purpose: Teleconsultation in ophthalmology is new emerging modality during COVID lockdown. The aim of study was to find main ophthalmic problems experienced by patients during COVID 19 lockdown period. Methods: All patients taking ophthalmology teleconsultation were included.Their age, gender, place of residence and chief complaints were noted.Patient contacted mainly through telephonic consultation and WhatsApp messages. Results: A total of 387 patients were included with age ranging from 2 mts. to 82 years. Majority (53,13.69%) of the patients were in age group 41 – 50 years of age.Out of 387 patients, 264 (68.21%) were males and rest females. Majority of patients complained of redness (24.03%) followed by watering (17.57%) and foreign body sensation (16.02%).28.16% presented with computer vision syndrome.Around 33% required slit lamp examination. Conclusion: Teleophthalmology consultation has emerged as boon during lockdown.Around 67% patients were manageable over teleconsultation.
