Abstract
Introduction – AFA is a rare congenital anomaly characterised by presence of skin bands between eyelids .It can be present as an isolated finding or as a part of syndrome.
Materials and Method-Here, we report a case of one day old male, who was brought to us with chief complaints of closed eyelids since birth with multiple skin bands in both the eyes. Paediatric assessment revealed dystrophic thin ridged nails and cleft palate in this neonate.
Result and Conclusion-Surgical excision of eyelid skin bands was conducted and satisfactory result was obtained. Though rare, congenital AFA can cause stimulus deprivation amblyopia if not treated in time.
