Abstract
A 13 years old female child who is a known case of SLE with lupus nephritis taking treatment since 2 years in outside hospital came to our paediatric dept with history of 2 episodes of GTCS type of seizures. Physical examination revealed discoid skin rash on the trunk and extremities and swollen knee joints.child is positive for ANA,anti-ds DNA antibodies.Her BCVA in OD 6/60 and in OS 6/36.on slit lamp biomicroscopic examination of anterior segment in both eyes shows diffuse congestion of conjunctiva,cornea clear, IOP normal, schirmers test within normal limits. Fundus examination reveals large cotton wool spots, heamorrhages along with sheathing of retinal vessels in both eyes.In right eye at perifoveal area temporal to disc few hard exudates are seen and increased foveal thickness.Treatment initiated with oral steroids,phenytoin,HCQ,telmisartan and amlodipine.After subsequent follow ups visual acuity is improved to 6/9 in both eyes and cotton wool spots and exudates are subsided.
