Abstract
Aim to present the rare complication of CNVM complicating RAM
Materials & methods A 68 year old hypertensive lady had 2 sequential RAMs along the lower temporal arteriole OD with minimal exudation first time & massive multilayered macular bleed 3 years later that resolved spontaneously with scarring. 6 years later she developed recurrent submacular bleed with hard exudates that on FFA & OCT was proven to be due to a CNVM juxtaposed to the scar
Results The CNVM resolved with 1 injection of intravitreal avastin & visual recovery
Conclusions long term followup of resolved RAM is important as rarely a CNVM may develop at this site probably caused by microrips in Bruchs’ membrane at the time of RAM rupture under high pressure causing the multilayered bleed
