Abstract
A 40 years male, came with complaints of Sudden diminution of vision in Both eyes for 4 days. His vision was counting fingers close to face in both eyes. Intraocular pressure was 14 mm Hg in both eyes. Anterior segment examination showed Sluggish reacting pupil, trace anterior chamber cells. Fundus examination in BE revealed large placoid like outer retinal whitish lesions at posterior pole with active margins. Leopard spot pattern on FFA was seen with inverse pattern on autofluorescence. TPHA, VDRL were reactive and he was diagnosed as syphilitic chorioretinitis. On treatment on autofluorescence hyper dots become less prominent with indistinct borders. His vision improved to 20/20 in both eyes after therapy. This case highlights the role of autofluorescence in diagnosis, regression of disease and prognostication.
