Abstract
Macular coloboma as a cause of diminished vision is rarely encountered in the OPD. We report a case of 11 year male child who was brought to the OPD with diminished vision and nystagmus. His BCVA both eyes-6/36 .Anterior segment was normal in both the eyes. Iris was normal. His pupils were reacting. Fundus examination shows peripapillary atrophy and macular coloboma in both the eyes, pale and tilted disc in the left eye. Findings of Spectral domain optical coherence tomography along the coloboma showed sudden excavation and absence of retinochoroidal layer with sharp edges at the border. The excavation was not continuous with the disc margin.Surrounding retina was absolutely normal in thickness and intensity. The child was advised of low vision aids.
