Abstract
It was noted that ROP was more common in neonates with gestational age less than 28 weeks overall incidence being 47.55% among incidence of ROP ,which was documented to be 17.88% overall During our case study one more factor which mitigated was birth weight less than one kilogram 55.66%; and incidence of stage one and stage two was more common overall 86.53% in total and was associated with oxygen therapy 41.33% with concurrent RDS in 38.90 % and 35% had history of septicemia and other contributory factors were neonat al jaundice blood transfusion and anaemia 22 , 38 and 17 neonates It was noted that overall participation of parents were 93% in screening as it bore excellent results overall as 93% of patients with stage one and 86%neonates in stage two resolved spontaneously during follow up period as only 7 patients with stage3 and 2 neonates with stage APROP and one with stage 2 plus disease in zone one required surgical intervention This study had excellent community participation
