Abstract
Appropriate evaluation of donor corneal tissues forms the main cornerstone for their effective utilization. Presently available donor examination methods are limited to slit-lamp examination and specular count. While the former provides gross details of corneal stroma and endothelium, the latter provides a quantitative assessment of endothelium cells. However, none of these provide objective information about function of these cells. Examination of donor tissue on microscope-integrated optical coherence tomography-guided microscope (mi-OCT) immediately prior to surgery may aid in quantitating donor suitability and reliability for surgical utilization.
