Abstract
An online survey comprising of a questionnaire related to aspects of online teaching was undertaken to assess the advantages and disadvantages of online classes in the field of medicine amidst lockdown. A total of 412 responses were collected. 165 (40%)respondents were undergraduates,47(35.7%) were postgraduates and 100 were consultants or faculties.329(79.9 %)of those who participated were an active part of the webinars or online classes while the rest discontinued. The primary reason given for not attending the webinars was – too many classes are conducted (65.8% respondents) and the clash of timings of these classes (56.1%) Overall the survey concluded that at the student level, there were difficulties being faced with this new method of learning. However, the faculties and consultants were in favor. To conclude, amidst an international crisis like the COVID-19 pandemic, for a developing country like India, our interventions should be as novel as the virus to combat this situation.
