Abstract
ACUTE DACRYOCYSTITIS WITH PATENT SYRINGING : though rare is not unheard of. It has a few interesting differentials. The aim of this case report is to discuss these differentials , and how we solved and managed a CASE PUZZLE – PIECE BY PIECE for a 9 year old male child with uneventful ante, intra and postnatal history and 6/6 BCVA in both eyes who had presented to the oculoplasty department of a tertiary eye care centre with Left eye recurrent attacks of ACUTE DACRYOCYSTITIS WITH PATENT SYRINGING , and reached a conclusive diagnosis of a condition which though rarely reported in literature is believed to be more common in occurrence as it is usually asymptomatic, hence ‘Often you will not know its there!!!’
