Abstract
Case Presentation: A 25 year old female who delivered vaginally 1 week back complicated by eclampsia, presented with 3 episodes of blurring of vision followed by seizure, altered sensorium and emotional labiality. She complained of non-localized headache refractory to analgesics and puffiness of face since childbirth. Visual acuity was reduced to finger counting bilaterally. Fundoscopy was unremarkable. Systemic examination revealed a high blood pressure of 220/120 mmHg which was managed with anti-hypertensives. CT Scan of the brain was normal. On MRI, patchy T2 hyper-intensity was seen in Fronto-parietal convexity region involving both cortex and sub-cortical white matter, suggestive of Posterior Reversible Encephalopathy Syndrome. She had a complete recovery of vision in 7 days and follow-up MRI was normal. Conclusion: This is a peculiar case as edema was not restricted to the conventional Parieto-occipital location. Delayed diagnosis may cause persistence of residual features.
