Abstract
Aim:To study the relationship between corneal tomography and corneal WTW measurement in children. Method:WTW of 683 eyes assessed in horizontal (hWTW) and vertical (vWTW) meridian(mm) and correlated with keratometry, aberrometry and BAD(Belin/Ambrósio Enhanced Ectasia Display)indices from Pentacam HR using multiple regression analysis. Results:Agreement of >0.98 observed between the two surgeons for hWTW and vWTW values.Pentacam reported horizontal corneal diameter showed a relatively poor ICC of 0.76 with hWTW.Both hWTW and vWTW parameters correlated significantly (p<0.001)with flat, steep, mean and max keratometry indices inversely. The relationship with kmax was = 59.36 - 1.29*hWTW - 0.08*vWTW (r=0.37,p<0.001).The same for BADD was= 5.72 - 0.3*hWTW - 0.11*vWTW (r=0.34,p<0.001).Conclusion:WTW a significant factor in the tomographical assessment of cornea. The relationship equation shows that a decrease of 0.25mm WTW was equal to an increase of 0.34D in keratometry and 0.1 in BADD value.
