Abstract
Cysticercosis is a parasitic infestation caused by larval form of Taenia Solium. Ocular adnexal involvement is rare compared to intraocular infestations. We report a case of 34 year old female presented with solitary painless swelling in left upper eyelid since 2 months.O/E, a spherical, non-tender, well-defined mass approximately of size 1X1cm, firm in consistency was noted. Skin overlying the mass was movable & transillumination test was negative. Rest of the ocular examination was within normal limits. Routine blood investigation revealed eosinophilia. Stool examination was positive for T.Solium. USG orbit showed well defined cystic lesion with hyperdense intramural structure. NCCT of brain and orbit showed no other foci of infection. Cystic mass was excised and subjected to histopathological examination which showed multilayered cyst containing cental scolex with suckers and rostellum. Patient was started on oral albendazole and corticosteroid. No recurrence was noted on followup.
