Abstract
Data of 483 eyes will be presented out which 312 eyes belonged to the ICL group and 171 eyes belonged to the IPCL group. The following post op data was compared after 1 month of surgery between the 2 groups
UCVA and BCVA
Residual sphere, cylinder and spherical equivalent
Vault size
Pupil size
Total higher order aberrations
Safety index
Efficacy index
Results:
In the IPCL group 78% of the eyes showed either post op UCVA same or better than preop BCVA compared to only 66% in the ICL group
The post-operative BCVA was same (42%) in both the groups
Predictability appeared to be better with IPCL (±0.5D in 91 %, ±1.0D in 97%) compared to ICL (±0.5D in 84 %, ±1.0D in 96%) group
There were more patients within ≤0.5D (78%) with ICL group compared to 95% in the IPCL group within ≤1.0D in the IPCL group
ICL group – Mean safety index value 1.25±0.61
IPCL group – Mean safety index value 1.33±0.56
A correlation between post op pupil size and vault and between IOL size and vault will also discussed
